Our history
More than 65 years ago in 1955, registered Nurse Bea Goulder had a dream to offer in-home nursing assistance to the local community. Aptly, her business, trading as Castle Hill Visiting Nursing Services, was started in her own home, using one of her front rooms as her office.
In 1981 Kate Eckersley, Bea’s daughter took the reins, and incorporated and traded the business as Hills District Nursing Service. By 2007 the service expanded further and moved to new premises in Castle Hill. Then in August 2011, the company formally changed its name to Hills Nursing Pty Ltd.
From humble beginnings we have grown so much and now employ more than 100 casual, part-time and full-time locals.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive, high quality nursing and support services to assist our clients to live safely and independently in the comfort of their own home and community.
Our commitment to you
As a measure of our commitment to providing quality care to our clients and support to our staff, Hills Nursing is certified as complying with both ISO9001:2008 and the Attendant Care Industry Management System Standard. As part of these certifications we undergo comprehensive checks at least once per year so you can be sure we are providing the best possible service.
Safety culture
All staff undergo stringent safety checks before they undertake any work with our clients, and that includes working with children and the aged. It is always easy to recognise our team as they always wear our distinctive uniform and carry Hills Nursing photographic identification while on duty.
Our partners
Hills Nursing is an approved provider to a number of Federal and State authorities including:
- Department of Health and Ageing
- Department of Veterans Affairs
- Ageing Disability and Home Care NSW
- WorkCover NSW Dust Diseases Board
We also provide approved community aged care packages including:
- Community Aged Care Packages
- Extended Aged Care at Home
In order to access packages of this type, you must be assessed as eligible by an ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team). If you think that you might qualify, you should speak to your doctor in the first instance. If your eligibility is confirmed, the local ACAT will let you know if there are available packages and will take care of the referral. Packages are in high demand so we recommend you apply as soon as possible.
